Your Impact

The primary purpose of this role is to lead a team (or teams) of software engineers in the development, configuration, and modification of integrated business and/or enterprise application solutions. This includes:

• Providing oversight of the implementation and maintenance of business and enterprise software solutions.
• Ensuring the successful deployment of released applications.
• Offering insight and recommendations to inform the roadmap and health of the larger portfolio.

This role requires strong business and technical acumen, empowering the team to solve complex technical and business problems while balancing the needs of the business and technology.

What You Will Do

• Lead a team in achieving the company’s mission by fostering performance and an inclusive environment.
• Manage engineering services in the design, build, and maintenance of technology products or services.
• Oversee the translation of business requirements into logical program designs, code modules, and software solutions.
• Influence and establish best-in-class engineering practices through solid design decisions and regular code reviews.
• Leverage DevOps and observability tools to improve product efficiency and monitor performance.
• Partner with scrum teams to optimize team capacity, increase velocity, and reduce sprint spillover.
• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including internal customers, vendors, and senior management.
• Resolve escalated issues during development and modification of enterprise solutions.
• Design solutions leveraging microservice architecture and event-driven API integrations.
• Collaborate with product team members to inform priorities within assigned products and services.
• Provide input on departmental budgets and manage expenses associated with initiatives.
• Coordinate resource forecasts, schedules, and execution plans for assigned applications or services.
• Educate and align teams on company policies, methodology, and operational objectives.

Management Expectations:

• Perform 40% development and 60% management.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 8 years of IT experience.
• 4 years of experience in software engineering or related fields.
• 5 years working on projects involving SDLC implementation.
• 5 years of experience using Java, Hibernate, Spring Boot, React, and Micronaut.
• 3 years of experience leading technical or project teams, providing thought leadership and mentoring.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field.
• 3 years of leadership experience with direct report responsibility.
• Experience managing operational or project financial budgets.
• IT consulting experience.
• IT Management experience in the retail industry.
• 3 years of software development experience in an agile environment.
• Experience working with third-party vendors or software solution providers.
• Experience in IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) frameworks.
• IT roles requiring interaction with senior leadership.

Work Location

• Relocation to the Charlotte region required to foster collaboration and support testing.
• Lowe’s Flex Office concept: in-person work required two days per week at the Charlotte Tech Hub.
• Meetings planned around the Eastern Time Zone.

Pay Range

• $122,600.00 - $232,900.00 annually.
• Starting pay may vary based on position, location, education, training, and experience.
